Windows & .NET Magazine Names MEC 2002 Best of Show Finalists

Windows & .NET Magazine announced finalists for the Best of Show Awards for MEC 2002. Finalists were selected in five categories: management, mobility, networking/infrastructure, security, and collaboration and productivity. Windows & .NET Magazine editors will announce the Best of Show winners in Booth #526 at 12 p.m. on October 10 during MEC 2002 in Anaheim, California.

The field included more than 174 entries. Michael Otey, senior technical editor of Windows & .NET Magazine, said, "We chose finalists based on the products’ strategic importance to the market, the competitive advantages, and the value to the customer."

The management category finalists are BindView’s bv-Admin for Microsoft Exchange, Discus Data Solutions' ExMS Directory Integrity Agent, Heroix’s Heroix eQ Management Suite, Hewlett-Packard's HP Management Solutions for Windows, and Microsoft's Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM). 

 

The mobility category finalists are Bindview's bv-Admin Mobile, Fenestrae B.V.'s Fenestrae Enterprise Mobility Server, Interactive Intelligence's Mobilite, Sonic Mobility's Sonicadmin, and Synchrologic's Synchrologic Email Accelerator.

 

The networking/infrastructure category finalists are Aelita Software's Exchange Migration Wizard (EMW), Evergreen Assurance's Assured Exchange, Marathon Technologies’ Marathon Assured Availability Module, NEC Solutions America's NEC Express5800/320La, and Quest Software's Spotlight on Active Directory.

 

The security category finalists are BindView's bv-Control for Windows 2000, CipherTrust's IronMail, Quest Software's FastLane ActiveRoles, NetIQ's Security Manager, Sybari's Antigen 7.0 for Exchange, and Trend Micro's ScanMail for Exchange Suite. 

 

The collaboration and productivity category finalists are Add-on Products' WebTeam Central, Aimware's TeamCentral, Casahl Technology's ecKnowledge, eOptimize's About: Time for Exchange Server, and Software Technologies' Softwire.
