JSI Tip 8938. How can I remove Bluetooth wireless device support in Windows XP SP2 (Service Pack 2)?

When you install Windows XP SP2, Bluetooth wireless device support is automatically installed.

If a Bluetooth wireless device or radio is detected, Device Manager will install the driver for the Bluetooth device.

To remove Bluetooth wireless device support:

1. Start / Run / Devmgmt.msc / OK.

2. Expand Bluetooth Radios.

3. Right-click each device and press Uninstall and OK.

4. Close Device Manager.

5. Open a CMD.EXE window.

6. Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each line:

CD /D %SystemRoot%\Inf
rename Bth.inf Bth.oldinf
rename Bth.pnf Bth.oldpnf
exit

7. Shutdown and restart your computer.

NOTE: This procedure only prevents the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack from loading, but 3rd party Bluetooth stacks can be installed and loaded.
