To reset Windows 2000 Terminal Services Licensing:

1. Exit the Terminal Services Licensing tool.

2. Open a CMD.EXE window.

3. Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each one.

net stop termservlicensingCD /D %SystemRoot%System32rename LServer LServerOldMD LServernet start termservlicensing

4. Reinstall the license key packs. You may need to contact the clearinghouse to get the key packs reissued. In the USA, call 1-888-571-2048. For other countries:

  • Start the Terminal Services Licensing tool.

  • Right-click your License server and press Properties.

  • Press Connection Method and press Set to Telephone.

  • Select your country and press OK.

  • On the Action menu, press Install Licenses.

  • Press Next.

  • Customer Service Center using the phone number displayed.

  • Press Cancel.

5. The following should be logged in the System event log:
