I first discussed this issue at tip 10031 Tooltips for some taskbar icons are hidden behind the taskbar on Windows XP?.
The following procedure may work for you:
1. Press the Start button.
2. Press All Programs.
3. Right-click any icon on the All Programs menu and press Sort by Name.
