Microsoft Releases Visual Studio LightSwitch beta 2 - 15 Mar 2011

Visual Studio LightSwitch is Microsoft’s newest development tool. LightSwitch is designed to allow non-developers to create data driven applications for Windows or the Web.LightSwitch uses predefined templates to make it easy to develop new applications. LightSwitch enables you to create applications without writing any code. LightSwitch generates either VB or C# code. Although no coding is required LightSwitch does allow you to customize screen layouts and add custom business logic.

If you have Visual Studio 2010 already installed then LightSwitch will be installed into the existing Visual Studio IDE as a new project type. One thing to be aware of is that if you have Visual Studio 2010 already installed then you’ll need to be sure to upgrade to the Visual Studio 2010 SP1 before installing LightSwitch beta 2.
