Exercise - 01 Nov 1999

Suppose a legacy system deposits a file into a specific directory every hour. You want a stored procedure to detect whether a file exists in a specific directory, then fire off a DTS package to convert flat-file data after it's in the directory. You can create a SQL Server Agent job to run every 30 minutes, as Listing A illustrates. To download the code to run this listing, go to the link to this article at http://www.sqlmag.com.
