Opening a Shared Inbox in Its Own Window

A user has set up his Inbox in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 so that I have permission to view the folder. How can we make the folder open in a separate window?

When you use the File, Open, Other User's Folder command to open the Inbox in another Exchange mailbox, Outlook 2003 reuses the existing window to display that folder. It takes a couple extra steps to open the shared Inbox in its own window. After the Inbox opens in the main window, right-click the shared folder name at the top of the screen (e.g. Sue Mosher - Inbox) and choose Open in New Window. You can then return to the main window and switch back to your own Inbox.
