Microsoft Releases Exchange 2000 Server SP2

Microsoft has released Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2 (SP2), a far-reaching update that adds several new features and fixes many bugs. SP2 also adds new features to the browser-based Outlook Web Access (OWA) email and personal information manager (PIM) client, including new calendar views and support for pop-up reminders.

"We continue to make improvements to Outlook Web Access because Exchange customers are increasingly on the go and they are demanding powerful and intelligent tools to make them more productive and efficient," said Microsoft's Kevin McCuistion, the Exchange group product manager. "The result is a user experience that is so similar to that of the Outlook client, some people will have to double-check to see which client they are using."

Other new features include an updated Migration Wizard, Active Directory (AD) improvements, and improved message-tracking features. The update is available as a free download from the Microsoft Web site.
