Q: Will Exchange Server 2007 allow you to index and search public folder stores? The improved search capabilities for mailboxes in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and Outlook Web Access (OWA) 2007 look great. I'm just wondering whether these improvements have been extended to public folders as well.
A: As far as I know, the full-text indexer doesn’t index public folders at all. I haven’t seen anything to indicate that this capability will be added in Exchange 2007 SP1. The Exchange 2007 SP1 release notes state that "Full-text indexing is not implemented in public folders."
