Max Data Storage in Azure Backup

Max Data Storage in Azure Backup

99 years of data in Azure? No problem.

Q. What is the longest time I can store data in Azure Backup, and what workloads are supported from Data Protection Manager?

A. With the February 2015 backup agent update, it's now possible to store data in Azure for up to 99 years. This is enabled through a new monthly retention period that is enabled through Update Rollup 5 for DPM in conjunection with the Azure Backup agent update, supporting up to 366 backup copies in addition to seeding Azure Backup content via Azure Import. See http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3033794 for more detail on the update.

Also as part of Update Rollup 5 for DPM (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3021791?wa=wsignin1.0), all DPM workloads can now be protected to Azure, including Windows Clients.
