Why does Windows 2000 disable my NIC when I start Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS)?

A. If you have dual gateways on the server--one for internal networks and one for external networks--you can't specify which gateway to use because Win2K Server automatically selects the gateway that it wants to use. Remove your NIC's internal gateway to force the OS to use the external gateway. Thanks to reader Jim Lamons for this information.
