Select contiguous text

You can always drag to select text. But you may have noticed that dragging becomes difficult if you need to select text that is off screen! As soon as you start dragging off the screen, the scrolling gets out of hand. Therefore, it is important to remember an effective alternative to dragging.

1. Click at the beginning of the text.
2. If necessary, use the scroll bars to scroll the display so you can see the end of the text you wish to select.
   Do not use the keyboard to move the display -- just the scroll bars.
3. SHIFT+click at the end. That is, hold down the SHIFT key and click at the end of the text
