Restoring Leaf Objects

When you restore leaf objects during an authoritative restore, you need to keep some rules in mind. First, an organizational unit's (OU's) OU= portion must be capitalized. For example, if you restore a computer called testing in an OU called test, the syntax is

restore subtree CN=testing,OU=test,DC=<domain name>

Second, you need to use quotes if you restore an object that has spaces in its name. The quotes belong before the OU or container name and after the domain name. For example, if you have an OU called testing this, the syntax is

restore subtree "OU=testing this,
   GC=NRN,DC=NRCAN,DC=GC,DC=CA"
