A. Yes. Because the Server 2008 R2 core installation now includes .NET components, it's possible to install certain Exchange 2007 roles on a core installation.

It is important to understand that just because it's possible to install Exchange 2007 on a Server 2008 R2 server core doesn't mean Microsoft supports it.
