OQO Minicomputer Launching in October ... Seriously

After 2 years of false starts, the OQO minicomputer will allegedly start shipping in mid-October. The $2000 PC features a 1GHz CPU and 256MB of RAM, but what sets it apart is its tiny 5" x 9" form factor, complete with 800 x 480 screen. The OQO features a slide-out keyboard so that you can use it like a slightly large PDA, but you can also plug into external peripherals at home and use it like a full-fledged PC, because it runs Windows XP. Will the OQO handtop be successful? If its road to market is any indication, the next time you read about this device could be in its obituary
