JSI Tip 8884. Help and Support on the Windows XP Start menu won't open?

When you press Help and Support on the Start menu, one of the following occurs:

. You receive a message similar to Windows cannot find HELPCTR.EXE.

. Windows Explorer opens so you can locate HELPCTR.EXE.

These behaviors are indicative of a missing or damaged registry entry.

To resolve this problem:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.

2. Type the following command and press Enter.

REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\HELPCTR.EXE" /VE /T REG_SZ /D "C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\HelpCtr.exe" /F
