JSI Tip 8816. How can I grant a user permissions to change the data in some of their attributes?

To grant a user permission to change the data in selected attributes:

01. Use ADSIEDIT.MSC to navigate to the user.

02. Right-click the user and press Properties.

03. Select the security tab.

04. Press the Advanced button.

05. Select the Permissions tab.

06. Press the Add button.

07. Enter a security principle (the user).

08. On the Permission Entry for <Display Name> dialog, select the Properties tab.

09. Check the Read and Write Allow boxes for the attributes you wish them to modify.

10. Press OK, Apply, and OK.

NOTE: The first time you do this, you must respond Yes to some confirmation dialogs.
