JSI Tip 8489. Microsoft does NOT support installing a service pack and post-service pack hotfixes consecutively for Windows operating systems?

While the non-reboot method is likely to work, some hotfixes may NOT be properly applied.

Microsoft no longer supports consecutive (non-reboot) installs of services packs and post-service pack hotfixes for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.
