JSI Tip 7566. Your computer BSODs with STOP: 0x0000008E when you attempt to upgrade from a Windows 2000 server to Windows Server 2003?

After the subject error, you are unable to access Windows 2000.

This behavior will occur if you insert a floppy disk that contains the repartition = yes parameter in a Winnt.sif file.

The repartition = yes parameter in a Winnt.sif file is only used for an unattended installation and should NOT be used when you upgrade.

NOTE: When Setup detects the repartition = yes parameter, it deletes ALL existing partitions and repartitions the hard disk.
