JSI Tip 7153. Your Windows 2000 Server hangs with a STOP 0x00000069 BSOD after your remove ARCserve 2000?

When you use Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs to uninstall ARCserve 2000 Backup, when you restart your computer your receive the following BSOD:

STOP: 0x00000069 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
IO1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

To workaround this problem:

1. Boot the Recovery Console.

2. Make a backup copy of the registry files at %SystemRoot%\System32\Config, just in case.

3. Perform an in-pace upgrade of Windows 2000.
