JSI Tip 6828. How do you prevent Web sites from obtaining access to your windows clipboard data?

Starting with Internet Explorer 5.0, the Microsoft Dynamic HTML (DHTML) Editing Component can script access to the contents of your Windows clipboard.

This feature is turned off by default when the Internet Explorer Security Zone is set to High security.

If you do NOT use the High security setting, you can set the security to Custom Level and set Disable (or Prompt) for the Allow paste operations via script option in the Scripting section.

NOTE: In addition to the Internet and Restricted Sites Security Zones, you may want to set this option on the Local Intranet zone.

NOTE: See How can I manage Internet Explorer Security Zones via the registry?
