JSI Tip 6102. Windows XP hangs with a 'display driver has stopped working normally' message?

Windows XP hangs or quits and you receive:

The <DisplayDriverName> display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to report this failure to Microsoft.

If Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) is installed and you have a faulty display device driver, you will experience this error.

Contact the video adapter manufacturer for an updated display driver:
