JSI Tip 5693. How do I read AWD files in Windows 2000?

You receive AWD files via email, from a Windows 98 shared fax, but you can't read them.

The retail Windows 2000 and Windows XP CD-ROMs contain a \I386\WIN9XMIG\FAX\AWDVSTUB.EXE file, which will convert an AWD file to a TIFF file. Copy it to a folder in your path. To convert a AWD to a TIFF file, type:

AWDVSTUB /c <Drive:>\FolderX\FileName.AWD \[<Drive:>\FolderY\FileName.TIF\]
