JSI Tip 5437. When you start Windows XP, the startup sound pops and pauses?

The subject condition only happens on some combinations of hardware and device drivers.

There is no fix for the problem, but it does NOT effect the functionality of Windows XP.

You can turn off the startup sound:

1. Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices.

2. On the Sounds tab, locate and select Start Windows, under Program Events.

3. Select (None) in the Sounds box.

4. Press Apply and OK.
