JSI Tip 4210. How do I set printing preferences for all users on my Windows 2000 print server(s)?

Windows 2000 printer properties are separate for the local server computer and the client computers.

To set the printer properties for all clients

1. On the print server, Start / Settings / Printers / <Printer Name> / Printer / Properties.

2. Select the Advanced tab.

3. Configure the settings, including Advanced printing features.

4. Press Printing Defaults.

5. Configure the settings on the various tabs and press OK and Apply.

To set printer properties for the local server

1. On the print server, Start / Settings / Printers / <Printer Name> / Printer / Properties.

2. Select the General tab.

3. Press Printing Defaults.

4. Configure the settings on the various tabs and press OK and Apply.
