JSI Tip 3657. Your DHCP server does NOT issue IP leases after running Dhcpexim.exe?

If you use Dhcpexim.exe to move DHCP scopes, your Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 DHCP server does NOT issue IP leases?

The problem is due to Dhcpexim.exe incorrectly setting the RangeFlags data value to 0, at HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\DhcpServer\Configuration\Subnets\x.x.x.x\IpRanges\x.x.x.x, where x.x.x.x is the defined scopes.

To resolve the problem, set the RangeFlags data value to one of the following:

1 - DHCP only.

2 - BootP only.

3 - Both DHCP and BootP.
