JSI Tip 2788. How do manage access to RIS images for users and groups?

When you create a new image on a RIS server, you may wish to limit which users and groups have access to the image.

To limit the access to selected users or groups (preferred), browse to the Ristndrd.sif file at
%RemoteInstall%\Setup\<LangPack>\Images\<File Name>\I386\Templates
where <LangPack> is the lanuguage version of the OS and <File Name> is the name assigned when the image was posted. By revoking the Read and Read and Execute permissions on this file, you can restrict access to the desired groups and/or users. By revoking the Read and Read and Execute permissions on the <File Name> sub-folder, you can hide the Ristndrd.sif file.

Make sure that the Domain Administrators group retains permissions on the file and folders.
