JSI Tip 1656. Outlook Express 5 won't create HTTP or Hotmail Account?

If the connection wizard in OE5 doesn't offer the Hotmail Account option or you can't choose a HTTP server in the E-mail Server names dialog box, the HTTP mail setting is probably disabled in the the registry.

Use Regedt32 to navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express

Double click the HTTP Mail Enabled value name in the right hand pane and change the data value in the DWORD Editor from 0 to 1. Click OK and exit the registry editor. Restart OE5.
