JSI Tip 1577. Error 1057 occurred: The Account Name is Invalid or Does Not Exist.

When you configure a service to Start (Control Panel / Services / <ServiceName> / Start) with an account other than the system account, you must specify the password in the Log on As dialogue box. If you fail to enter a password, the subject error occurs.

NOTE: Windows NT places asteriks in the Password and Confirm Password boxes when you choose a user account. This does not mean that the correct password had been entered.

NOTE: You can set the account and password in batch, using SC from the Resource Kit. See tip 0676 for an example.
