JSI Tip 10452. The Winshow browser hijacker causes errors, changes your home page, and causes unwanted Web sites to open in Internet Explorer?

When you start Internet Explorer 6, you may experience any of the subject behaviors if the Winshow browser hijacker has been installed on the computer.

NOTE: Winshow is installed as an Internet Explorer BHO (Browser Helper Object).

You may receive one of the following errors, which closes Internet Explorer:

Access violation: IE has encountered a problem and has to shutdown.


Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close
application name: iexplorer.exe
mod name: winshow.dll
