JSI Tip 10329. When you delete a file in Windows XP, it does not appear in the Recycle Bin?

After you delete a file in Windows XP, or move it to the Recycle Bin, the file does not appear in the Recycle Bin.

The Disk Cleanup feature reports that the Recycle Bin is not empty.

This behavior will occur if you are running version 6, or earlier versions, of the McAfee Shredder utility, which is included in various McAfee software bundles.

To resolve the behavior, upgrade to version 7, or later, of the McAfee Shredder utility.

To workaround this behavior, empty the Recycle Bin after each use of the McAfee Shredder utility.
