How to scale with RDCMan

Q. How can I make remote sessions use scaling with RDCMan on HDI displays?

A. RDCMan is a great utility to enable the management and connectivity to multiple remote instances however when using a HDI display, such as a 4K, scaling does not occur so the text and icons in the remote session are very small. Fortunately the solution is simple:

  1. Open the folder where RDCMan.exe lives, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Remote Desktop Connection Manager
  2. Right click on RDCMan.exe and select Properties
  3. Select the Compatibility tab
  4. Uncheck the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings checkbox
  5. Click OK
