A. If you upgraded to XP from Windows Me or Windows 98, go to the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel applet and click Uninstall Windows XP. Under this same set of circumstances, you can also uninstall XP from the command prompt by performing the following steps:
- Start the computer in Safe Mode with Command Prompt support (press F8 during start up).
- Navigate to %systemroot%\system32.
- Type
osuninst.exe
and press Enter. - Follow the onscreen instructions.
