How can I display an option on the Windows Shut Down menu to hibernate my Windows XP or Windows 2000 system?

A. When you shut down your computer, you see options for Restart, Shut down, Stand by, and Log off. If you haven't previously configured the OS to include a Hibernate option, you can select the Stand by option and press the Shift key to temporarily display a Hibernate option.
