If you were looking for that one last nudge to get you into the HTC One M8 for Windows, HTC may have the solution: If you purchase this Windows Phone flagship at AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless through the end of January 2015, you can get a free Xbox Dot View case.
Exclusive to the HTC One M8 for Windows or Android, the Dot View case combines full body protection for the handset plus a fun dot matrix-style (or Lite Brite-like) front cover that lets you take calls, receive email notifications, schedule reminders, weather updates, and more, without even opening the case. It comes in a variety of colors, like blue, gray, maroon and orange, and so on, and Amazon typically sells them for $20 to $30 each.
The freebie that HTC is offering is something special, however. It's the Xbox green version of the case that HTC gave out to reviewers, and my understanding at the time was that this version of the case would never be made available to the public. But here it is, and in addition to the green color, it sports an Xbox logo on the back.
If you do buy an HTC One M8 for Windows between now and the end of January, just head over to the HTC Dot View Xbox Case web site to order your free case.
I didn't examine the Dot View case as part of my HTC One M8 for Windows Review but my overall impression of this device was very positive. My only real gripe is the camera, which doesn't measure up to even a mid-level Lumia handset like the Lumia 735 or 830. But it's a real flagship device, and if the camera isn't a big deal for you, it's absolutely something to consider.
