Gearing Up for a Monumental Event: IT Connections Opens Call for Content

I'm happy to announce that the IT Connections Call for Content has opened! By submitting your proposals, you will help shape the content that will make the event better than it ever has been and, hopefully, the most valuable event you'll attend all year.

I have conferences in my blood. Since 1998, I've been speaking, managing, and working at a couple conferences each year. I truly love to see a good event become a great event and that's why I'm really excited about the upcoming IT Connections conference at the Mandalay Bay (Las Vegas) in September 2013. Part of my new role here at WindowsITPro.com is helping shape content that will make the event better than it ever has been and, hopefully, the most valuable event you'll attend all year.

One of the key new pieces for the upcoming event is the focus. Being an experienced alumni of the Microsoft Management Summit, the System Center Universe, and TechEd, I've had the unique opportunity to learn, not only how to cultivate content and speakers to provide ultimate value, but also which topics will be most applicable to your daily lives in the IT profession.

With that, I'm happy to announce that the Call for Content has opened.

We are looking for 75-minute technical sessions and full-day, deep-dive pre/post-conference workshops that offer practical advice and walk attendees, step-by-step, through features, techniques, and troubleshooting for Windows and Cloud areas.  These areas include:

  • Windows Server Management (Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008/R2)
  • Windows Systems Management (Active Directory & Group Policy, Networking, Storage)
  • Windows Virtualization
  • Windows Deployment (Windows 8, Windows 7)
  • System Center
    • Configuration Manager
    • Data Protection Manager
    • Endpoint Protection
    • Operations Manager
    • Orchestrator
    • Service Manager
    • Virtual Machine Manager
    • Windows Intune
  • Cloud & Datacenter Management
    • Windows Azure
  • PowerShell

We do ask that speakers present a minimum of 2 75-minute sessions.

We are making it easier than ever to submit your session proposals and biographical details. Simply go to http://www.devconnections.com/proposal, click Submit a Proposal, and fill out the required fields. After you have submitted your first session proposal, you will have the option to submit additional proposals. You also have the ability to save your session proposals as drafts and modify/submit them at a later time. Here’s the basic information you’ll need to provide for each session proposal:

  • An active session title that describes what attendees will learn from your session
  • A 1-paragraph abstract that describes in detail what you will discuss during your session and the value the attendee will get out of attending that specific session
  • The track
  • The ability level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)

You’ll also be asked to provide a 1-2 sentence biographical statement and headshot photo.

Submissions are due by EOD Tuesday, May 14th, 2013. Final session selections will be made by June 14th, 2013. If your sessions are chosen, you will be notified by email.

I look forward to seeing your submissions flow through and I look forward to meeting you at IT Connections!
