CTIA 2009: RIM Unveils BlackBerry App World, Samsung Launches New Phones

I arrived in Las Vegas for CTIA 2009 just a few hours ago, and early reports seem to dampen expectations for any revolutionary new phone announcements. Samsung has taken the wraps off the Samsung Mondi and the Samsung Instinct S30 (look for photos and specs tomorrow), and I'll hopefully get the latest on the newest Celio device tomorrow as well.

MobileCrunch has posted impressions of their first look at the latest Google Android phone firmware, while our own Paul Thurrott has posted a bit about Microsoft's CTIA announcements.

Arguably the biggest news so far has been the official unveiling of Blackberry App World, RIM's answer to Apple's iPhone App Store. Jessica Dolcourt over at News.com has posted some BlackBerry App World screenshots. I'll post some additional photos and details about BlackBerry App World tomorrow. You can also check out the official App World website, which went live about 30 minutes ago.
