Creating free-form diagrams

While the diagram applications (such as the organization chart tool) are the best way to create certain types of diagrams in PowerPoint, you may have occasion to create a diagram "from scratch." A free-form diagram is created by adding shapes to a slide, adding text to the shapes, then connecting the shapes with connectors.
