Cool App: Project Your Windows Mobile Screen to Your PC Over USB

Here’s a handy utility. Microsoft has made available an application that, once installed, can be used to deliver your Windows Mobile screen directly to your PC’s monitor. This is a hugely valuable option, particularly for those wanting to deliver presentations or demos of a new mobile app.

Ideally, you can also use the app to take screen captures of mobile screens. This app only supports delivering video – it does not also deliver audio. This app is good in a pinch if you don’t have access to a Miracast or WiDi device.

To use it, install it, open it, and then connect your Windows smartphone to the PC through a USB connection. You’ll be prompted on your smartphone to allow your mobile screen to be transmitted to the PC.

Whatever actions you perform on your smartphone are mirrored in the app on the PC and there’s very little delay between what happens on the mobile device and what shows on the remote system.

This is an updated version that includes additional OS support and bug fixes.
