Blogger Simplifies Posting of Personal Sites

Blog service Blogger, a recent Google acquisition, this week updated its blogging software to a newer version that offers more features but is perhaps just a bit too easy to use. Most of the people blogging today are fairly sophisticated, and the new, AOL-like quality of the latest Blogger update has some fans up in arms. Still, if Blogger wishes to get its software out to a wider audience—and let's face it, that should be obvious—going the simple-stupid route might be a good move. After all, the Web wasn't any fun until the gray, plain-text, academic Web sites were overrun by blinking text, throbbing graphics, and annoying Flash animations you can't skip, right? Right?
