Why won't my new USB 2.0 controller work in Windows XP? When I install the PCI adapter, XP recognizes the adapter as a USB controller, but when I check the device manager, XP displays an error telling me that the driver hasn't been installed. What's happening?
XP doesn't have native support for USB 2.0. Check with your USB adapter vendor to see whether it has drivers for XP.
