One of the more interesting features added to the Microsoft Band a few months ago is the ability to control your music from your wrist. You can essentially use the Microsoft Band’s onscreen controls to pause, play, stop, and move between songs.
Some have had difficulty getting this to work consistently. So, here’s at least one nuance you should be aware of along with a workaround.
If you have paired a set of Bluetooth headphones to your smartphone to listen to music, and those headphones have their own music controls, they will conflict with the Band’s onscreen music controls unless you connect each device in this order…
- Before connecting your Bluetooth headphones, start playing the music on your smartphone.
- Now, make the Microsoft Band connection (double press the power button) and test music control.
- Once you’ve verified that music control works on the Band, now connect your Bluetooth headphones.
Also…don’t attempt to use the Bluetooth headphone controls after you have performed this procedure because they will override the Band’s controls.
If you’re using a wired headset, this is not an issue at all.
