Azure Marketplace Rolls Out in 86 More Countries

Azure Marketplace, Microsoft's online store for thousands of certified, open source, and community software applications, add-ons, and data is getting bigger today.

Launched at TechEd Europe 2014, Azure Marketplace is a holding house for applications that are Azure-ready. With over 3,000 available products Azure Marketplace offers easy purchase and implementation of Virtual Machines, application services, API apps, Azure Active Directory applications, web applications, and data services, with Microsoft Dynamics solutions coming soon.

In essence, with a Microsoft Azure account, you literally just choose the software you want to implement, acquire it, and click to roll it out automatically. In an on-premises datacenter world, the process is much more complex and implementations can take weeks or months due to revising infrastructure to support it. Using Azure, customers take advantage of Microsoft's own architecture that can scale automatically to meet the needs of the business.

Microsoft is intent on building the largest catalog of apps and services delivered to the vast majority of those investing in Cloud operations. Today, the company has expanded Azure Marketplace availability, making it available in 86 more countries. Prior to today's announcement, Azure Marketplace was only available to Enterprise Agreement Direct and web-direct customers.
