This week is Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference 2015 which is being held in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center.

Rod and I are here to cover the event and keep you up to date on news and other interesting tidbits that come out of the keynotes, sessions and our time with some of the product teams and partners.

One massive element of this weeks event is the large Expo that is being held on the main floor of the OCCC.

Microsoft, partners and sponsors are able to display/demo their products and services to everyone in attendance. It is a terrific networking opportunity.

There is also a very large Microsoft presence from their hardware, software, services, learning/certification divisions and likely  some others I missed.

You can see Surface Hub, Windows Phone, Surface 3, Surface Pro 3, Xbox One and try out Windows 10. Just in case you are curious the latest build on most of the OEM hardware is 10162. No secret RTM builds to be seen here although we do expect RTM to be announced this week during WPC. You wil also find many of Microsoft's services represented such as Skype for Business, Microsoft Open Source, Microsoft Cloud, Azure, CRM, Dynamics, Machine Learning, Microsoft Learning and many other services from the company.

Each region of the world also have their own lounges to gather and network with other partners from their regions such as Japan, Canada, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Middle East, the US and others.

Sunday night was the welcome reception so there was food and drink to be had and all kinds of interactive opportunities from social media to learning and certifications.  I even tried out the Twitter Vending Machine and won a USB hub shaped like a battle ship!

This gallery will give you an opportunity to see some of the sights around the Expo show floor during Sunday night's welcome reception.

Senior Content Producer, IT Pro Today (Informa Tech)

I served for 29 plus years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in November 2011. My work background in the Navy was telecommunications related so my hobby of computers fit well with what I did for the Navy. I consider myself a tech geek and enjoy most things in that arena.

My first website – AnotherWin95.com – came online in 1995. Back then I used GeoCities Web Hosting for it and WindowsObserver.com is the result of the work I have done on that site since 1995.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP each subsequent year since that initial award. I am also a member of the inaugural group of Windows Insider MVPs which began in 2016.

I previously hosted the Observed Tech PODCAST for 10 years and 317 episodes and now host a new podcast called Faith, Tech, and Space.

I began contributing to Penton Technology websites in January 2015 and in April 2017 I was hired as the Senior Content Producer for Penton Technology which is now Informa Tech. In that role, I contribute to ITPro Today and cover operating systems, enterprise technology, and productivity.
