How many databases does Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition support? I can't find a clear answer on the Microsoft Web site.
Exchange 2003 Standard supports one storage group (SG) that has two databases: one public database and one mailbox database. Each database is limited to 16GB total size, including all the .edb and .stm files in the database. If these specifications aren't adequate for your environment, you'll need Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, which supports four SGs with five databases per SG. (If you already have Exchange 2003 Standard and want to upgrade, you don't have to rebuild your server--you just need to reinstall Exchange using the upgraded version.)
