I created a script under Exchange Server 5.5 and want to add it to a new public folder in Exchange 2000 Server. Any suggestions?
In Exchange 2000, you need to configure the Event Service to run under a domain user account and set the service to start automatically. The account needs at least Editor permissions to the Event_Config folder and Owner permissions on the folders in which you want to create scripts. None of these settings are default settings, so you need to configure them so that the server can run scripts and so that Outlook will display an Agents tab on the folder, thereby permitting you to install the script.
The Exchange 2000 release notes cover this topic. However, you might also want to read two Microsoft articles: "XCCC: Items Unavailable on the Agents Tab When You Administer Events Scripts" (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q298442) and "XADM: Exchange 2000 Event Service Event: An Unexpected MAPI Error Occurred" (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q265397).
