Altova Online Training Adds XBRL Course
Altova, creator of the XMLSpy XML editor, has added a new XBRL training course for MissionKit 2009, Altova's integrated suite of XML, database, and XBRL tools. The training course is included in the free Altova Online Training program and consists of five modules providing tutorials that take users step-by-step through common XBRL-related tasks in MissionKit 2009.
The MissionKit XBRL training modules provide an introduction to XBRL and an overview of the XBRL filing process. Users will learn how to create an extension taxonomy in XMLSpy, map financial data from a back-end system to a taxonomy and convert it into a compliant XBRL instance document with MapForce, and explore how to automate this process by generating royalty-free code in Java, C#, or C++. The final module focuses on XBRL report generation, using StyleVision to create an XBRL report in HTML, RTF, PDF, and Word 2007 formats. Each module of the XBRL course includes 30 instructional videos and interactive quizzes.
