At Microsoft Ignite last week, there was an embarrassment of session riches. Microsoft experts, IT pros, partners, MVPs and more shared their insight and knowledge with those at the conference. Fortunately for those of us who couldn’t get to the conference, Microsoft has made the sessions available via streaming video. It can be tough to decide where to dive in, though, which is why I appreciate Cheryl Ajluni’s expert analysis of the Platform Vision & Strategy: Storage Overview session.
While all of the Ignite sessions were meaningful to certain audiences, this one resonates widely because of the growing amount of data that pretty much every company is dealing with today.
The Platform Vision & Strategy: Storage Overview session focused on just one of Microsoft’s storage options: the private cloud with Microsoft SDS (Microsoft Azure Stack). The session, according to Ajluni, was a study in contrasts: “What you couldn’t do yesterday that you can do today with Software-Defined Storage (SDS)," she said. "It also provided information on where the SDS journey will take you in the future and, of course, there was a hefty dose of demos to bring those words to life.”
