After installing Internet Explorer 7, the icons displayed for Internet Explorer shortcuts and for HTML files are for the previous version?

After uninstalling Internet Explorer 7, the icons displayed for Internet Explorer shortcuts and for HTML files are for the Internet Explorer 7 version.
This behavior will occur if Windows fails to update the icon cache after an install or uninstall of Internet Explorer 7.
To resolve this problem:
1. Right-click a blank area of the desktop and press Properties.
2. Select the Settings tab in the Display Properties dialog.
3. Make a note of the current color depth.
4. Use the Color quality to temporarily select a different color depth.
5. When prompted to keep the new settings, Press Apply and Yes.
6. Use the Color quality to select the color depth you made a note of in step 3.
7. When prompted to keep the new settings, Press Apply and Yes.
8. Press OK.
