JSI Tip 8005. Freeware application moves 'Microsoft Windows Network' to the top of the 'Provider Order' list.

Downloads
NetworkProviderOrder.zip

If installation of networking components and protocols changes the Provider Order list, at Network Connections / Advanced / Advanced Settings / Provider Order, so that Microsoft Windows Network may no longer be at the top of the list, running NetworkProviderOrder.exe will move it to the top of the list. If moved, a restart is required for the setting to become effective.

Harry Bates ([email protected]) has provided NetworkProviderOrder.zip, which should be unzipped after downloading.

You can run NetworkProviderOrder.exe in a computer's Startup script, user's logon script, from their Startup folder, via Group Policy software distribution, or remotely (via PsExec.exe). No switches are required.
